CVUT UCEEB Open-code repository

Our partner ČVUT UCEEB just dropped a major update!

Introducing our open-code repository, housing numerical models of advanced thermoelectric ventilation units and their controllers, extending the TRNSYS v18 simulation environment. The in-façade thermoelectric ventilation unit stands as one of the cutting-edge components following the PLURAL project's Plug-and-Use (PnU) concept. You are invited to explore the "Thermoelectric Units" library, consisting of new types that redefine the active thermoelectric heat exchanger and rule-based controller, working in assembly with the standard Type 23 - PID controller.

Installation is a breeze:

  1. Download the release zip file here.

  2. Extract all files into your TRNSYS18 root folder, commonly C:\TRNSYS18

  3. Unzip to unveil new assets: proformas, Fortran codes, executable dynamic libraries, documentation, and illustrative examples

  4. Launch TRNSYS Simulation Studio and navigate to the "Thermoelectric Units" library in the right-side library tree

  5. Test functionalities swiftly using the provided example file: C:\TRNSYS18\Examples\Thermoelectric ventilation unit

 Key Features

Our library encompasses:

  • Type 221: Active thermoelectric heat exchanger

  • Type 230: Rule-based controller for the active thermoelectric heat exchanger unit

Combine these components to simulate energy behaviour within the newly developed ventilation units, achieving a precise supply of air conditioning. Leverage the Type 230 controller, along with the Type 23 PID controller, to implement rule-based control regimes. This empowers your simulation to operate under various operating regimes, including bypass control, overheating mitigation, and underheating mitigation.

Join us in advancing simulation possibilities and redefining ventilation performance!
