Self-detecting Algorithms

IREC through the development of data-driven Fault Detection (FD) techniques managed to unlock the full potential of a heat pump and enhance a building's energy potential towards heating and cooling. It is critical to maintain equipment performance as faults can affect the optimal operation and reduce energy efficiency.

For this reason, fault detection (FD) techniques from the fault detection and diagnosis (FDD) field are developed for heat pump (HP) and air handling unit (AHU) systems, and more specifically, focused on PLURAL components: Heat pumps used in eWHC, SmartWall, and eAHC (external Air Heating and Cooling).
